Headed Home

12:35 pm. Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all your prayers and support. Nehem and Jess are both looking real good and feeling real good so we get to go home! We will be filing out some paper work, packing our stuff up, and then getting to the house.

Thank all of you for allowing Jess and baby to have some time to rest. We'd love to have friends and family come and visit us, so feel free to stop by between 5:30-10:00.
Thanks again!

He's Here!

Nehemiah John Livigni Born at 10:40pm. August 31, 2009. Weight: 7lbs 8oz. Length: 21 1/2 in.
Jess pushed for 3 solid hours before he finally came. Praise God he's finally here!

We're pushing!

Game time! We've been pushing for the last hour and can see a full head of dark hair! Pray that this part goes quickly and smoothly.

Still Waiting

7:11pm. Things are still progressing along. Jess is now at 9 1/2 cm. dilation. We are very close to game time... or so we hope :) Jess is felling good, though with increasing contraction intensity, she is starting to get pretty hot. We're keeping cool with ice chips and damp, cool cloths.

Also, thanks to you who have commented on the blog. Reading the blog comments to Jess has been very encouraging!

Slowly but Surely

5:25pm. Dr. Ellis just measured Jess at 9cm dilation and is at 0 station (for those who don't know what that means, it means that the baby is dropping down further in between the pelvic bones). We are slowly getting closer and are excited about the progress thus far. Jess is still doing good and is her normal optimistic self. We are trying to practice patience; we are just so excited to see him face to face!

Waiting

3:48pm. Nothing new, just waiting. Jess is still doing good... just trying to catch a few z's. This is the outfit that we are going to be taking him home in (hopefully soon). I'll be sure to post with any news.
2:16pm. Jess is dilated 7-8 cm. as of the last measurement at 2:00. She's doing good, eating popsicles and watching animal planet. Because of the epidural, she is not allowed to eat but is tolerated to have popsicles. When we asked what flavor popsicles are available, the nurse answered, "Green, Blue, Red, Orange, and Purple." Jess is eating the "green" flavored popsicle.

They also gave Jess an oxygen mask to ensure the baby is getting enough oxygen.
1:08pm. Still hanging in there. Jess is dilated 5cm (halfway there) and felling pretty good. We are both excited as Dr. Ellis (Jess' OB GYN) has arrived and will be delivering the baby.

No estimate to how long it will be before Nehem actually comes, but they say that the baby must be delivered within 24 hours of the water breaking.

Thanks again for you prayers and support!
9:49am. Jess is doing good. About a half hour ago, she was dilated enough to receive en epidural. The contractions were getting pretty painful, but now she sound asleep. Praise God for anesthesiology!

We are still waiting for little dude to come, and are excited at the possibility of him being born on August 31, also my dads birthday. Happy Birthday Grandpa Livigni!

We appreciate your support and prayers! After he arrives, i'll be sure to take plenty of pics and video.

Almost Home!!!

As you can see, Nehem's time is coming soon. As of now, the doctors are saying that Jess is measuring 40cm (which is normal for full term) even though we are only 36 weeks. So Nehem is a healthy baby and apparently a healthy eater. The ultrasound revealed that he is weighing in at 6lbs 12oz! His stomach is measuring so big that he is within the 90th percentile. Like a little Buddah.

We're not sure when he's going to come, but we are hoping for earlier rather than later.

News on the Baby

Hey friends and family!
This blog has been created to keep those of you posted on any news regarding the pregnancy, delivery, and all other fun stuff regarding little Nehemiah Livigni. As of now, Jess is doing well, baby is kicking like Bruce Lee, and the due date remains Sept. 17, 2009.

As of now we are hoping that he (Nehem) will stick to his due date. If he did, he would be born on 9/17, and Nehemiah 9:17 says:

"They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them."

What a great verse! Particularly the latter part. It would also be cool if he came a bit earlier... like on 9/9/09. That would just be neat. But regardless of the date, we are looking forward to this little guy joining the Livigni clan. Though Emma, our dog, may be a little jealous at first (Emma pictured above.)
